Warriors’ disrespectful offer to Bradley Beal proves they weren’t all-in on three-time All-Star

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Bradley Beal agreed to a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns and is slated to join the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $11 million contract.

The Golden State Warriors were among the various teams involved in the Beal sweepstakes this summer.

However, the organization’s disrespectful offer to Beal proves the organization wasn’t all in on signing the three-time All-Star.

“The (Milwaukee) Bucks made a very strong push to sign Bradley Beal, who was interested in Milwaukee,” ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel wrote on X/Twitter Wednesday.

“The (Miami) Heat were only able to offer a minimum contract after trading for Norman Powell. Golden State also wasn’t willing to offer more than the minimum.”

Based on Siegel’s report, the public shouldn’t be surprised that Beal opted to sign elsewhere.

The Florida product isn’t a superstar by any means necessary, but it would be virtually impossible to argue that he isn’t worth more than a minimum contract at age 32.

Beal averaged 17.0 points on 49.7% field goal shooting and 38.6% three-point shooting in 53 games with the 36-46 Suns last season.

With Beal officially out of the equation, the Dubs can prioritize making a final decision on Jonathan Kuminga’s future with the franchise and landing Al Horford, their No. 1 free agency target.

Last Saturday, Siegel noted that a return to the Bay is likely for the Kuminga and there’s an ‘expectation’ that Horford will forgo retirement in favor of signing with the Warriors for the 2025-26 season.

While nothing is set in stone for Kuminga and Horford, the Warriors made it clear that a Beal signing wasn’t a must this offseason.
