Victor Wembanyama stats today: Spurs star sets Christmas record with eye-popping performance vs. Knicks

The Spurs may have lost to the Knicks 117-114 on Christmas Day, but Victor Wembanyama did all he could for San Antonio.

The second-year center put up 42 points and 18 rebounds while making six three-pointers, becoming the first player in NBA history to produce those numbers on Christmas Day. Wembanyama’s 42 points is tied for the 14th-most in Christmas Day history, along with Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Bob Love.

However, San Antonio couldn’t come away with the victory, as Mikal Bridges scored 41 points for the Knicks to help New York seal a three-point win. The Spurs dropped to 15-15 on the year, but they put up a strong effort on the road against one of the best teams in the NBA.
