On Friday, April 4th, Team USA will take on Team UK at Chelsea FC’s stadium, titled, “Battle at the Bridge”.
Transatlantic Clash II will feature Team USA, consisting of five fighters led by Roy Jones Jr., and Team UK, guided by Spencer Oliver, as they go head-to-head in an exciting international showdown.
Headlining the card is an intriguing 10-round super-featherweight clash featuring Marley Mason (5-2-1, 1 KO) of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK, taking on WBF champion Mandeep Jangra (11-1, 7 KOs) of Cantonment, Florida, USA.
Based in the U.S., Jangra is 31 from Sirsa, India, and this will be his fourth 10-rounder. In his last contest, in November 2024, he defeated Welsh champion Conor McIntosh over 12-rounds in the Cayman Islands.
25 from Essex, UK’s Mason has won just once from his last four fights, so will be eager to secure victory to get his winning run going again. He first lost 13 months ago, via eighth-round stoppage, when challenging for the prestigious Southern Area lightweight title – the oldest belt in British boxing.
He won his last bout in September 2024 to give him the confidence and momentum he needs for his third 10-round contest.
Heavy-handed prospect Aurel Ignat (9-0, 8 KOs), 29 from Wembley, London, faces fellow undefeated cruiserweight Stanley Johnson (7-0, 5 KOs), 32 from Houston, U.S.
Both unbeaten with high KO counts, each ranked in the top 10 in their respective countries, this 200lbs contest is guaranteed to be explosive.
21-year-old prospect Lucas Roehrig (3-0, 2 KOs) from London will meet Missouri’s Brian Jones (4-1, 3 KOs) over six-rounds at cruiserweight.
Another fighter from Essex, Arnie Dawson (5-0, 2 KOs), 22 from Clacton will face the experienced 32-year-old Divante Jones (13-3, 6 KOs), from Georgia, over five rounds at super-lightweight.
10 years his senior, America’s Jones possesses triple the fights in experience than UK’s unbeaten rising star, Dawson.
Londoner Jack Hughes (10-4-1) takes on veteran Texan Josue Morales (31-17-4, 13 KOs) over five-rounds at flyweight.
32 from Houston, ‘Zurdo’ is a former WBC Silver flyweight champion, who recently fought ex-unified world champion, Francisco Rodriguez Jr.
Also 32, West London’s Hughes is a former Southern Area super-flyweight champion, a title he won on his third attempt, following a prior loss and a draw. He only just fought in February after 15 months away, and this next fight comes just eight weeks after.
The unique event is being brought to fans by British promoters Dennis Hobson Jr. and Steve Crump of Fight Academy, and John Tretheway of TM14 Promotions.
The thrilling event will feature elite talent from both sides of the Atlantic battling for national pride as well as the prestigious Transatlantic Clash Trophy, as 10 rising stars put it all on the line for their separate countries.
Team USA will be under the guidance of International Boxing Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr., while Team UK will be coached by former European super-bantamweight champion Spencer Oliver.
“This event is all about showcasing the best talent from both nations and reigniting the historic boxing rivalry between the UK and the USA,” said promoter Dennis Hobson Jr. of Fight Academy. “We are thrilled to have my good pal Roy Jones Jr. be a part of this monumental series, along with Spencer Oliver, and fans can expect fireworks in the ring.”
