Updated 2026 NFL Draft order: Titans, Saints on pace to claim top selections after Week 13

With the college football season wrapping up and more than a few NFL teams firmly out of the playoff picture, minds are already shifting to draft season.

While there might not be a clear No. 1 overall prospect, the race for the top selection is set to be a close battle down the stretch. The Tennessee Titans entered Week 13 in pole position, but a handful of struggling teams are close behind, including the New York Giants, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders.

Not every team near the top of the draft will be targeting a quarterback in April. The Titans and Giants both drafted a quarterback in the first round last season and are set to build around them in 2026. Others, including the Saints and Jets, could hope to find their long-term solution at quarterback in a draft with no clear-cut blue-chip prospect at the position.

Here’s an updated look at the 2026 NFL Draft order in Week 13, led by the Titans.

Top 2026 NFL Draft prospects

Here’s a look at the top 10 prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, based on both The Sporting News’ latest mock draft and NFL Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board:

Rank Player Position College team
1 Rueben Bain Jr. EDGE Miami
2 Fernando Mendoza QB Indiana
3 Arvell Reese LB Ohio State
4 Dante Moore QB Oregon
5 Ty Simpson QB Alabama
6 Caleb Downs S Ohio State
7 Peter Woods DL Clemson
8 Spencer Fano OT Utah
9 Jordyn Tyson WR Arizona State
10 Keldric Faulk EDGE Auburn

Even in an odd year for quarterbacks, with many of the projected top prospects struggling, a handful of potential first-round picks still remain. Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza has played himself into the No. 1 pick conversation, while Alabama’s Ty Simpson and Oregon’s Dante Moore are also in the mix near the top of the first round.

Defenders are also rising up the board. Miami EDGE Rueben Bain Jr. and Ohio State LB Arvell Reese each have cases to be the top overall players in the draft, while Reese’s teammate Caleb Downs has long been projected as a likely top-10 pick.

While 2026 may not feature a true blue-chip wide receiver prospect, Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson remains a highly-rated player despite battling nagging injuries in 2025.
