The Boston Celtics have routinely had two All-Star locks on their team in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but after the first round of fan voting for the 2025 All-Star Game, a new name has arisen; Derrick White.
White made the cut, being in 10th place out of the top ten most voted for Eastern Conference guards. So far, he has a little over 120,000 votes to his name.

This season, White has been balling, so his votes are warranted. He is currently averaging 17 points, five rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block per game. He is also a lethal shooter, averaging about 40% from deep.
White is also an excellent defender, and probably the best shot blocking guard in the league. He currently has more blocks than big men such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ivica Zubac, Karl Anthony-Towns, and Bam Adebayo.

While White is definitely having the best year of his career, it might not be All-Star level play in the eyes of NBA critics, or other players, who make up the other 50% of the vote. Hopefully though, enough fans put his name on the ballot that he becomes the third Celtic to make this year’s All-Star Game.
