Often considered a gateway to the Champions League, the Europa League winner not only lifts a major European trophy, but gains access to the world’s most lucrative and visible tournaments in football history.

The Sporting News brings you a full roundup of the 2025/26 schedule, which will be filled out as the campaign progresses, starting with the league-phase draw on Friday, August 29.

UEFA Europa League fixtures 2025/26: Schedule of matchdays
The league phase of the 2025/26 Europa League will begin in mid-September. Teams will play eight league-phase games hoping to put themselves in position to secure a knockout-stage place.
The top eight teams in the table will advance straight to the Round of 16, earning a bye through the playoff round. Teams finishing 9th-16th in the table will advance to the knockout-playoff round where they will be seeded in the draw, selected to face one of the clubs finishing 17th-24th in the table. Teams finishing 25th-36th will be eliminated from European competition, and are not eligible to drop to the Conference League.
From there, the eight knockout-playoff round winners will advance to the Round of 16 where they will meet the eight direct qualifiers. At that point, the knockout bracket will be set by the final draw, and the remaining teams will contest the latter stages of the competition to determine the 2025/26 Europa League champions!
