Tyson Fury reveals not speaking to wife and kids to prepare for Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Tyson Fury has gone to extraordinary lengths to prepare to get revenge on Oleksandr Usyk. Fury and Usyk are set to meet for the second time this year for the undisputed heavyweight boxing championship this weekend in Riyadh.

In their first fight, Usyk handed Fury his first career boxing loss earlier this year when he inched out a split decision victory on the judges’ scorecards.

A lot has been made of the various changes Fury has had to make for the Usyk rematch. It looks like he has put on a historic amount of weight entering fight week, signaling a potentially aggressive game plan to combat Usyk’s unique puzzle.

During a recent interview with Queensberry Promotions, he explained the lengths he’s gone during camp to feel adequately prepared to get his revenge over Usyk.

“I’ll end his career, this will be, you’ll never hear about Oleksandr Usyk again after this. It’s been a long camp, hasn’t seen my wife and kids in 3 months. I haven’t spoken to [my wife] at all in 3 months. Not one word sacrificed a lot. But it’ll all be worth it. 100 percent.”
