Tyler Guyton injury update: Cowboys left tackle in danger of missing Week 1 after hurting knee in practice

The Cowboys had a disappointing season last year, but one of the highlights was rookie tackle Tyler Guyton. The 2024 first-round pick played 15 games for Dallas and began to establish himself as a cornerstone piece of the offensive line, cementing left tackle in the second half of the season.

However, not even a week into training camp, Guyton’s 2025 season looked to be in jeopardy. The 24-year-old suffered an injury during Cowboys practice on Monday, and Dallas feared that they might have lost Guyton for the season.

Here’s the latest on Guyton’s injury.

Tyler Guyton injury update

Guyton went down with an injury during practice, and the team feared that he tore his ACL, Ian Rapoport reported. However, after Guyton underwent an MRI, it was determined that he suffered a bone fracture in his knee and will just miss 4-6 weeks.

Guyton will not need surgery and should be back sometime early in the season.

Guyton played in 15 games as a rookie during the 2024 season, starting 11 contests and playing all his snaps at left tackle. He is expected to be the team’s starting left tackle this season as Dallas looks for a bounce-back campaign.
