As Kody Clemens crossed home plate, he sent a horns-up gesture to his father, Roger, sitting up in a Fenway Park suite.
They’d just shared a father-son connective moment few will ever get.
Kody, playing for the Minnesota Twins, was in his first game at Fenway, the park his father dominated as a pitcher for many years.
“It’s exciting,” Clemens said before the game. “I always wanted to play here. I love the atmosphere and how the fans feel like they’re right on top of you. They’re engaged in the game. It’s exciting.”
And there the baseball went, flying out of the park, a home run.
Let’s go!!! Proud dad moment https://t.co/R65GC2Hgs9

Kody is 28 years old and in his fourth big league season.
This marked the 15th homer of his MLB career. The infielder is a career .195 hitter.
Roger was one of the best pitchers in baseball during his Red Sox career and then on to a number of other MLB teams.
It can’t have been easy coming up in the game with the Clemens last name.
But the journey had to all feel worth it in a moment like this one.
