Trio of Detroit Tigers leading AL All-Star voting

To say the Detroit Tigers are having a good season would be the biggest understatement of 2025.

At the publishing of this article, they are, record-wise, the best team in Major League Baseball, at 49-30.

Coming off of ace Tarik Skubal’s masterful 2024 Cy Young Award-winning season, the team has not slowed down in 2025, and the fans that vote for the MLB All-Star Game starters have certainly not turned a blind eye to the success of the team and their players.

With the 2025 MLB All-Star Game just under a month away, the voting for the game is ramping up, and in the short amount of time that remains, three Detroit Tigers currently lead the way in votes at their respective positions.

In left field, Riley Greene sits comfortably with 1,370,098 votes. Greene was named to his first All-Star Game last year as a reserve, but with his near-.300 batting average, 17 home runs, and 59 RBI, the star outfielder could easily be on his way to his first All-Star starting spot.

To Greene’s left, Javier Baez leads the AL center field voting, with 901,969 votes. Should Baez hold his lead, not only will he be named to his first All-Star Game since 2019, but will be his third start in three different positions in the Midsummer Classic.

Baez was named as a starter for the National League in the 2018 and 2019 editions of the game during his time with the Chicago Cubs, starting at second base and shortstop in those years, respectively.

And finally, leading the way at second base is Gleyber Torres, who, like Baez, will be looking for his first All-Star naming since 2019, and also for his first start. Torres was named an All-Star in 2018 and 2019 while with the New York Yankees.

The 2025 MLB All-Star Game will take place on July 15 from Truist Park in Atlanta.
