Trent Alexander-Arnold is officially a Real Madrid player — and he’s already starting to speak the local language.
Just days after sealing his move from Liverpool, the England international made his first public statement in Spanish. His message? Short and sweet: “El Jefe.”
That’s what he wrote under Real Madrid’s social media post announcing his and new manager Xabi Alonso’s arrival. It means “The Boss” — a nod to Alonso, who once ruled the midfield at Anfield and is now ready to do the same from the dugout at the Bernabeu.

But that wasn’t all. Alexander-Arnold also updated his Instagram bio to reflect his new club, swapping out Liverpool for Madrid.
A small change, but one that didn’t go unnoticed by fans. And let’s just say, some Reds supporters weren’t exactly clapping him off.

When can Trent Alexander-Arnold play his first Real Madrid match?
Alexander-Arnold’s transfer became official this week, with Madrid reportedly paying around £10 million to get him in early. The right-back is now set to feature in the Club World Cup next month, where Real will face Al-Hilal on June 18.
He’ll first link up with the England squad for games against Andorra and Senegal before heading across the Atlantic for the tournament.
It’s a packed schedule, but for a player used to playing every three days, it’s just another day at the office.
Liverpool fans gave him mixed signals in his final weeks — some cheers, some boos — but he left on a high after winning the Premier League.
Still, moving to Madrid while the club’s still celebrating left some supporters wondering if timing was his strong suit.
With a contract running until 2031 and a jaw-dropping €1 billion release clause, Real Madrid clearly see Trent as more than just a passing signing.
