Transfer deadline day live: Latest done deals, news and rumours
All times BST
3:35 p.m: Fulham boss Marco Silva has been frustrated by a transfer market of stasis at Craven Cottage. But the London club are looking to get some late business done. Chelsea youngster Tyrique George is on the verge of making the very short journey from Craven Cottage for £22m. Meanwhile, despite Fulham having agreed a £34.6m deal for Shakhtar Donetsk, Sporting CP are also making a late move. Will he get on the plane to London or Lisbon? Construct your own Home Alone gag.
3:10 p.m: Chelsea sure do love Brighton players.

2:30 p.m: Manchester City’s year of player churn continues. Manuel Akanji, a bargain buy and unlikely star of their treble-winning campaign is on his way to Inter Milan. The Switzerland defender has joined for a €2m loan fee with a option to buy, as per Fabrizio Romano. That clause will become mandatory if Akanji plays 50% of Inter’s games and if the Nerazzurri win Serie A.
2:15 p.m: Julio Enciso has completed his move to Strasbourg, Chelsea’s affiliated club in France following previous talk of him joining the BlueCo ownership group. That was a weird few days. He’s Brighton’s second exit today after Tariq Lamptey joining Fiorentina.
1:30 p.m: So, I guess we all expected big money to be flying in and out of Newcastle for centre-forwards today. I’m not sure anyone £30m of it to concern Will Osula. The young Danish forward is seemingly heading to Eintracht Frankfurt for that figure, as per the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope. Aston Villa, who are on a serious spree, were also in contention for Osula. If only Eintracht had worked out he was their man when Hugo Ekitike was on the market. That’s surely something Newcastle fans will be pondering today if they have enough time to think.
1:10 p.m: Yoane Wissa is in the building at Newcastle’s training ground and completing his medical. He and Alexander Isak are almost at the end of their days of anguish and over-wrought social media statements.
12:55 p.m: Tottenham made an eye-catching late window move to sign the highly rated Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig and Thomas Frank’s men aren’t done there. According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Randal Kolo Muani is on his way to north London to seal a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain. France striker Kolo Muani spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus and will compete with Richarlison, Dominic Solanke, and Mathys Tel among others for his spot in the Spurs forward line.
12:30 p.m: United might not be stopping at a goalie today. Football Espana is reporting Ruben Amorim is keen on Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher. It feels like there’s plenty to do as the clock ticks down, though, with United preferring a loan and Atleti purportedly only keen on a sale in the region of €45m. Crystal Palace have also been credited with bringing the England international back to south London.

11:55 a.m.: And just like that, The Athletic reports United and Antwerp have an agreement over Lammens! It is apparently €21m, plus add-ons. It appears they have chosen their new goalkeeper.
11:51 a.m.: Senne Lammens is apparently on his way to Manchester! He is said to have an agreement in place with United, although Antwerp have not yet agreed to a sale. There’s still a chance he ends up somewhere else today.

No deal on club level yet. Aston Villa & Galatasaray still options for Lammens.

11:48 a.m.: DONE DEAL: Chelsea have sold youngster Alex Matos to Sheffield United. He played just twice for the Blues after arriving from Norwich City. There’s a good chance that won’t be the only Chelsea deal today, of course…
11:33 a.m.: An update from Chris Wheatley on Arsenal, concerning an important bit of reshuffling within the club’s transfer department.
Arsenal make key backroom appointment as Andrea Berta shapes new era
11:22 a.m.: Isak has arrived for his Liverpool medical. Things should be wrapped up soon.
11:00 a.m.: It seems Tottenham may not be finished yet — there are rumours they could make a move for Randal Kolo Muani, whose proposed transfer to Juventus finally looks to have fallen through completely.
10:34 a.m.: More from The Athletic on Aston Villa’s (very) late bargain hunt: they are said to be exploring the possibility of signing Harvey Elliott from Liverpool!
10:31 a.m.: David Ornstein reports that Jadon Sancho‘s loan to Aston Villa is close to being finalised. United have been unable to offload Sancho all summer but are apparently happy for him to leave on another loan with a view to a permanent move next year.
10:23 a.m.: Getafe striker Christantus Uche is a wanted man today — there are three Premier League sides trying to get him before the deadline! Read more on that here.
10:17 a.m.: We have a breakthrough with Yoane Wissa: widespread reports indicate Brentford have AGREED to sell him to Newcastle after all! Fabrizio Romano says the fee is around £55m. Money talks, as usual.

10:05 a.m.: DONE DEAL: Chelsea have loaned Omari Kellyman to Cardiff City for the rest of the season. The 19-year-old only signed for Enzo Maresca’s side a year ago from Aston Villa for £19m.

9:27 a.m.: Galatasaray are at the heart of some of today’s goalkeeper movements. The Turkish giants apparently made a late move to persuade Donnarumma and/or Ederson to join them, but to no avail. That means, so says Graeme Bailey, they could now come in for Andre Onana if Man United sign a goalkeeper before the deadline (as a reminder, Turkey’s transfer window is open until September 10).
We discussed the prospect of Onana or Altay Bayindir heading to Istanbul here.
9:20 a.m.: Sunderland have been very busy in this window and look to be finishing it with a flourish. Sky Sports in the UK reports they have agreed a deal with RB Leipzig for full-back Lutsharel Geertruida, and they are in discussions with Ajax for striker Brian Brobbey.
8:47 a.m.: An interesting update from Samuel Luckhurst on Jadon Sancho. The MEN’s chief Manchester United writer says the idea of Sancho going to Aston Villa has been floated by United because the winger is on similar wages to Emiliano Martinez, who could become a Red Devils player by the end of the day. Sancho has so far not been able to secure a move away from Old Trafford despite it being made clear that he was not in Ruben Amorim’s plans.
8:41 a.m.: Donnarumma update: Fabrizio Romano says the deal is done! Now, we’ll see whether Ederson’s move to Fenerbahce is completed.
🚨💣 EXCLUSIVE: Gigio Donnarumma to Manchester City, HERE WE GO! 🇮🇹

8:20 a.m.: Manchester City are still hoping to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma today, although they’ll only do so if Ederson completes a move to Fenerbahce. Ben Jacobs reports that discussions are ongoing.
8:13 a.m.: Fulham are expected to be busy today. Fabrizio Romano reports that they will sell Martial Godo, who’s only made a handful of appearances, to Strasbourg. We should see Kevin become their record signing later today, and perhaps Samuel Chukwueze joining him in Marco Silva’s side.
8:04 a.m.: What about incomings at United? Well, there’s likely to be a goalkeeper in through the door: either Emiliano Martinez or Senne Lammens. Here’s the latest.
7:55 a.m.: An early update from The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who says Antony is finally on his way to Real Betis. The Spanish club had an offer accepted over the weekend only to withdraw their bid, saying they could not afford it. Now, it looks like a €25m fee and a 50% sell-on clause for United has got the deal done — although it could be the last Betis make given the cost involved.
7:35 a.m.: It looks like we have, at long, long last, an Alexander Isak breakthrough. Reports late on Sunday claimed Liverpool have seen a British-record transfer offer £130 million ($175.6m / €150.2m) accepted by Newcastle.. Get the latest developments here.
7 a.m.: This could be one of the busiest deadline days for a few years. Strap yourselves in!
What time does the transfer window close?
The transfer window closes today at 7 p.m. BST (2 p.m. ET) for Premier League clubs. The same is true for teams in La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
Some windows are open a little longer. Turkish Super Lig clubs, for instance, can sign players until September 12. The Saudi Pro League’s window shuts on September 10.
Transfer deadline day done deals
This section will be updated with the major transfers of the day.
Tariq Lamptey
From: Brighton
To: Fiorentina
Fee: £6 million ($8.1m / €6.9m)
Omari Kellyman
From: Chelsea
To: Cardiff City
Fee: Season-long loan
Biggest deals to keep watch of on transfer deadline day
These are the most significant transfers we’re expecting to happen today.
Alexander Isak
From: Newcastle
To: Liverpool
Will Newcastle finally relent on Alexander Isak, or will Liverpool hold firm and miss out? If Isak stays at Newcastle, will he manage to reconcile things to see the field this season, or will he sensationally hold out to protest the decision?
Piero Hincapie
From: Bayer Leverkusen
To: Arsenal
Arsenal have been working on a potential centre-back deal, and now with an injury to William Saliba, they might push even harder to secure Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen. They have already brought in Cristhian Mosquera, but might feel it’s not enough.
Nicolas Jackson
From: Chelsea
To: Bayern Munich
Will Nicolas Jackson’s defiant stance push through his loan deal to Bayern Munich? Or will Chelsea’s need for a striker after Liam Delap’s injury see Jackson’s move to Germany scuppered?
Marc Guehi
From: Crystal Palace
To: Liverpool
After scoring in what could be his final Crystal Palace appearance on Sunday, Marc Guehi could be set to move to Liverpool. The Reds have avoided an injury to Ibrahima Konate, at least it would appear initially, but will want to improve the defensive ranks regardless.
Gianluigi Donnarumma
From: PSG
To: Man City
Man City’s goalkeeping position remains in flux as Ederson is in the final year of his contract and has serious interest from Galatasaray. James Trafford has struggled in goal, and City could be motivated to secure Donnarumma from PSG who himself has been cast aside after winning a Champions League title.
