Tottenham Hotspur welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to North London on Saturday with the two clubs at opposite ends of the Premier League table.
Spurs are unbeaten in their past four matches in all competitions after a 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup, where Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha scored alongside an own goal that sealed their progress.
That victory continued Thomas Frank’s strong opening weeks as manager, with his side sititng second in the table only behind Arsenal on goal difference heading into this weekend.
Spurs showed their resilience in their last league match, with Frank’s side coming back to draw with Brighton & Hove Albion after being two goals down.
Wolves travel with the weight of five consecutive league defeats and remain the only side yet to register a single point. They risk joining Portsmouth, Crystal Palace and Norwich City as the only clubs to begin a season with six straight losses.
There was, however, some relief in midweek when goals from Marshall Munetsi and Tolu Arokodare earned a 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Everton.

Tottenham head into the game with several injury concerns, but there is also a cautious optimism regarding potential returns. James Maddison continues to rehabilitate from ACL surgery and is not expected to play until June 2026. Dejan Kulusevski remains sidelined until late November with knee problems.
Radu Dragusin is rehabilitating from his own ACL injury and still working towards full fitness, with a realistic target of mid-October. Also, the midfield will be without Yves Bissouma, who is recovering from a knee injury with no potential date confirmed.
However, there is better news surrounding Pape Matar Sarr, who missed the Carabao Cup tie against Doncaster as a precaution after a thigh problem. Frank suggested the issue was minor, and while he starts on the bench today, there is a strong chance the Senegal international could feature.
Elsewhere, Dominic Solanke has been back training on grass and is progressing well and could come off the bench if Frank decides to. Randal Kolo Muani, is also being closely assessed following a minor thigh issue. Defensively, Ben Davies is battling a knee problem while youngster Kota Takai is dealing with an ankle concern.

Wolves will head into Saturday’s clash boosted by the return of Jorgen Strand Larsen, who made his comeback from injury in the EFL Cup tie against Everton. The Norwegian striker played 68 minutes and came through without any problems, meaning he is expected to lead the line once again this weekend.
Vitor Pereira has heavily rotated his side, with regular goalkeeper Jose Sa given a rest while Sam Johnstone starts in net.
Ladislav Krejci seemed to have strengthened his claim in the midfield for a starting role after scoring against Leeds United last weekend, but he’s rotated out for Andre. The Brazilian joins Joao Gomes and Marshall Munetsi as Jean-Philippe Bellegarde takes a seat on the bench.
The injury situation remains relatively stable for Pereira. Leon Chiwome is ruled out long term after suffering an ACL rupture earlier this year, while Andre Trindade is sidelined with a calf issue and has no confirmed return date. Except these setbacks, Wolves will have relatively full squad to choose from.
