Harry Kane is aiming to win a first major title in 2025 as Bayern Munich chase down the Bundesliga trophy.
Kane’s debut season in Germany saw the Bavarians lose their domestic title for the first time since 2012 as Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen won a first-ever top-flight crown.
Despite being knocked out of the DfB Pokal Cup by Leverkusen at the end of 2024, Kane and Co. have the edge in the current title race by six points, with their No.9 the leading scorer in the division with 19 goals scored so far.

An incredible 36 league goals in 2023/24 saw Kane ease to Golden Boot glory, as his team lost out on the major prizes, and there remains a persistent hint that he wants another shot at the Premier League before retirement.
Kane signed off at Tottenham with 213 EPL goals – second to Alan Shearer (260) on the all-time list – with his move to Munich motivated by winning trophies he felt were not possible to secure in North London.
However, despite no current indication of a plan to leave Germany, Kane reportedly has an emergency route back to England, if his future intentions change.

Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich contract, transfer value, release clause
Kane’s current contract in Munich runs until the end of the 2026/27 season just a month before his 34th birthday.
His current transfer value is estimated at around £75m ($93m), but Bayern are not looking to sell, despite rumoured Premier League interest in England’s captain.
The crucial update on Kane’s ‘Premier League release clause’ comes via reports from German outlet Bild.
Bild outline how Kane had the option to leave Bayern Munich in the January transfer window for a release clause of £66.5m ($82.7m) but only to join a Premier League side.
The clause is reactivated next winter, for a reduced £54m ($67m), which will remain for the 2026 summer window too, again with the provision of the clause being only applicable to English clubs.

As per an additional report from the Daily Telegraph, Kane’s move to Munich included Tottenham retaining a ‘first refusal’ option on him, by which Spurs would be informed and offered the chance to meet the clause, if a rival club made a bid for Kane.
Manchester City’s long-standing interest in Kane has been ended by Erling Haaland’s latest contract extension at the Etihad Stadium, and a bold bid from Arsenal is very unlikely, with Chelsea and Manchester United remaining as future options.
