Tottenham makes decision on new head coach after Postecoglou’s departure

Last week, Tottenham Hotspur announced the decision to relieve Ange Postecoglou of his duties as head coach.

The decision by Tottenham came as a shock to many as Postecoglou led them to their first major trophy in 17 years by claiming the Europa League title.

In an official statement, the club explained that, despite winning the Europa League, their disappointing form in the Premier League and other competitions under Postecoglou has led to this decision.

Following Postecoglou’s dismissal, questions surfaced about who will become Tottenham’s new boss.

Brentford’s current manager Thomas Frank has been heavily linked to being appointed by Spurs since the beginning. And now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the Dutchman is set to become Tottenham’s new head coach.

What’s next for Tottenham and Thomas Frank?

Frank took charge of Brentford in October 2018 and has led the Bees to being promoted to the Premier League in 2021. His current contract at the west London side is valid until the summer of 2027 and includes a release clause.

Romano further reported that Tottenham have reached an agreement with Frank on contract terms and staff and Brentford is ready to part ways with the 51-year-old for a fee estimated around £10 million.

While the deal is expected to be officially sealed in the upcoming days, it remains to be seen if Frank is able to turn things around at Tottenham, similar to his stint at Brentford.
