Tottenham Hotspur have done decent business in the transfer window this summer as they desperately needed to improve the roster after an underwhelming Premier League campaign last time out.
Despite the Europa League glory, one cannot discount the fact that they finished 17th in the points table last season plagued with multiple injuries and lack of squad depth.
Therefore, the new signings will play a key role in helping them bounce back in the 2025/26 campaign.
But the Lilywhites have already suffered a massive blow in preseason with an injury to James Maddison, who is expected to miss the majority of the upcoming season.
The English midfielder is set to undergo surgery after rupturing his ACL in Tottenham’s friendly clash against Newcastle United.
This update hinders Tottenham’s progress for the upcoming season as club legend Heung-min Son has also left the club to join Los Angeles FC in a record-breaking move to the MLS.

Earlier, Spurs also missed out on signing Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, who has now decided to extend his contract with Forest.
Therefore, Tottenham had to look elsewhere to find someone who can slot in Maddison and as per reports via Gianluca Di Marzio, they have launched a bid for Como’s Nico Paz.
The Serie A club unsurprisingly have rejected Tottenham’s first bid worth €40m ($47m) as Cesc Fabregas-led oufit value the young midfielder for something around €70m ($81.5m).
His valuation saw a massive jump after his heroic exploits for Como last season as Fabregas’ men finished 10th in the Serie A points table.
Why are Tottenham looking to sign Como’s Nico Paz?
Paz moved to Serie A from Real Madrid for €6m ($7m) but Los Blancos still hold 50% of the Argentine youngster’s rights.
Real Madrid reportedly have the right to match any bid that is made for the youngster, or they can trigger the 50% sell-on clause if he leaves Como.
There are also rumours that Real Madrid have a buy back option on Paz in 2026 that allows them to secure the player for only for a transfer fee of €10m.
These clauses involving Real Madrid will eventually make Tottenham’s pursuit of Paz extremely complicated even if they somehow get Como to reduce their valuation for the versatile midfielder.
Coming to his style of play, the 20-year-old has a massive potential and is extremely versatile with his ability to swap between roles with aplomb.
The Argentine predominantly is an attacking midfielder, who has also found success on the flanks and can also play in a deeper role in midfield.
Paz made 35 appearances in the Serie A last season and returned with six goals and nine assists. He played a big role in helping Como finishing 10th in the points table.
The 20-year-old has continued the same in preseason and therefore he has attracted massive interest from clubs all over Europe with only Spurs making the first move with an ambitious bid.
It remains to be seen if the North London outfit will manage to convince Como and Real Madrid as securing Paz will sure up their midfield for many seasons to come.
