Tommy Fleetwood shares honest feelings after heartbreaking winless streak continues at FedEx St. Jude Championship

Tommy Fleetwood is the best golfer ever without a PGA Tour win.

Frankly, it’s not even close.

Fleetwood was in position again this weekend, taking the lead at the FedEx St. Jude Championship into Sunday.

But again, somehow, Fleetwood fell short. Justin Rose won. And Fleetwood had to deal with more heartbreak.

Fleetwood has now made 162 starts on the PGA Tour.

In those 162 starts, he has finished in second place six times and third place another six times.

He has 29 top-five finishes, and 43 top-10 finishes.

Fleetwood is a star without the victory to prove it.

He showed grace Sunday by meeting with reporters after yet another disappointment.

This is what he had to say:

“I’m getting close. That’s the good side of it… I’m obviously disappointed, but when you look at the positives, I was right there with a chance. It’s hard to win. I just didn’t get it done.”

Fleetwood didn’t necessarily choke. He shot 1-under on Sunday, and he tied for third with Scottie Scheffler, who came back with a 3-under to get close to the top.

Rose and J.J. Spaun were just a bit better, leapfrogging Fleetwood and getting into a playoff, which Rose won.

Fleetwood, 34, has a lot of good golf left ahead of him.

At this point, everyone in the golf world is rooting for him to get a win. It’s a massive monkey on his back, and fans of the game everywhere would love to see him finally get past this drought.
