Titans newcomer predicted to become favorite target for Cam Ward

The Tennessee Titans are ushering in the Cam Ward era and might have found a player who could become their franchise quarterback’s favorite target in the middle round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

On Saturday, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox wrote a piece spotlighting the players looking like steals of this year’s draft. The preseason is underway and rookies are flashing their potential that could lead to bigger roles than expected.

For Knox, the draft steal that can become a pivotal piece this season is Elic Ayomanor, who was selected in the fourth round out of Stanford.

“When the Tennessee Titans used a fourth-round pick on Stanford’s Elic Ayomanor, they landed a 6’2″, 210-pound receiver with good straight-line quickness (4.44-second 40-yard dash),” Knox wrote. “Of course, succeeding in the NFL requires more than just an impressive combination of size and speed.

“However, Ayomanor appears to have a lot more to offer than measurables. He was recently spotted using his athleticism and route skills to shine in joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”

Moreover, Knox isn’t stopping there with his rave of Ayomanor as he predicts that the rookie receiver will be connecting often with Ward and hoping over a veteran wideout as the season goes along.

“It won’t be a surprise to see Ayomanor supplant Jefferson for the starting perimeter role opposite Calvin Ridley by the time the regular season rolls around,” Knox added. “At the very least, he appears likely to become one of Cam Ward’s favorite targets at some point during the upcoming campaign.”

During his two seasons at Stanford, Ayomanor played 24 games for the Cardinal while recording 125 receptions, 1,844 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. If the 22-year-old can translate this form to the NFL, then the prediction won’t be wrong, as Ward could be looking for this big target when he needs to get out of a challenging situation.
