The Timberwolves could be active this offseason in trade talks after being eliminated in five games to the Thunder in the ECF.
Anthony Edwards is the future of Minnesota’s franchise and could be the face of the league in a few years.
As he gets closer to his prime, Minnesota might look to capitalize on that window by adding an all-time great to the roster.

Who could Minnesota trade for this offseason?
Sam Amico of HoopsWire reported that Minnesota will pursue Suns’ forward Kevin Durant this offseason to pair with Anthony Edwards.
Edwards has publically said how Durant is one of his biggest inspirations and is a player that he looks up to.
The two got to play with one another on Team USA in Paris last summer for the Olympics, so they already have some chemistry.

Durant could be the veteran and champion that Minnesota needs to take some of the pressure off Edwards, elevating them to the next level.
It’s still unclear what haul the Suns would want for Durant, but with KD going into the last year of his contract in his late 30s, the Suns can only expect to get so much in return.
The Timberwolves might only be able to get a few years out of Durant, but a wing of his caliber could be exactly what they need to make the trade worth it.

Even at age 36 in year 17 for KD, he averaged 26.6 PPG, 6.0 RPG and 4.2 APG on great efficiency.
Whether it’s to Minnesota or another team, Durant could very well be on a new team this upcoming season as he chases one last championship.
