The Minnesota Timberwolves will look to make significant additions to their roster this offseason after being eliminated in the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year.
With several players entering free agency, the Timberwolves face some tough questions on their roster. One clear need on the roster that needs to be filled is a perimeter shot creator, something they lacked behind Anthony Edwards.
Emmon Cassels of Dunking with Wolves has proposed that the Timberwolves target combo guard Coby White.
“With White’s size (6-foot-5) and shot creation, he’d give the Wolves backcourt a different element. Mike Conley is aging and no longer capable of playing 30-plus minutes per night; he can still contribute, but in a smaller role, Cassel Wrote. “At 25, White’s prime is only beginning. Overall, trading for White would give the Timberwolves more championship upside and could be the move that gets them over the hump.”
He adds that a trade centered around White would see the Timberwolves giving up Donte DiVincenzo and the 17th pick, along with a young players.
“While trading for White would come with a price, he would undoubtedly be cheaper than Durant or Garland. A trade could be centered around Donte DiVincenzo and the 17th pick, or a young player like Terrence Shannon Jr. or Rob Dillingham. Undoubtedly, DiVincenzo is a vital presence for the Wolves off the bench, and moving off young talent could be painful. Nevertheless, that’s the price you have to pay to land an All-Star-level guard,” Cassels wrote.

The Timberwolves’ star, Mike Conley, alongside Anthony Edwards; however, given Conley’s age, the Wolves could benefit from an upgrade.
Coby White has proven to be a gifted scorer during his time with the Chicago Bulls. Last season, he averaged 20.4 points,3.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.
The Wolves have experienced great success in recent years, led by Anthony Edwards; however, they still have a long way to go if they want to truly compete for a championship. The addition of Coby White could be a move that puts them ahead of the pack.
