Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle seen laughing at box score post game

It was a rough second half for the Timberwolves that led to a Game 1 road loss.

They were outscored by 30 points in the second half but Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle were seen in good spirits laughing after Game 1.

Why were the Timberwolves’ stars laughing after Game 1?

The two stars were seen holding a piece of paper with the box scores from the game.

Edwards preceded to point to one part of the paper as the two collectively laughed about it:

The Timberwolves were visibly upset with some of the calls made during the game, in disbelief at times.

We can only assume, but not guarantee, that they might have been referring to the amount of fouls Shai Gilgeous-Alexander drew in the Thunder’s Game 1 win, when laughing at the box score in their post game press conference.

SGA shot 11/14 at the free-throw line on Tuesday.

The foul calls were even, with each team being called for 22 personal fouls in the contest.

The Thunder shot five more free throws (26) than the Timberwolves’ 21.

Shai is known for being a player who used different techniques to draw fouls successfully, with 9.2 FTA in the postseason this year (4th in NBA).

He was third in the NBA during the regular season, with 8.8 FTA.

We will see if this trend continues throughout the series and how the Timberwolves will respond to a player who will likely try and get to the line as much as he can moving forward.
