Thunder urged by NBA champion to trade stockpile of picks for $276 million generational superstar

The Oklahoma City Thunder arguably have the best team in the NBA, yet they have yet to climb the mountain and win the NBA Finals. If they fail to do it again this year, it might be time to create a true dynasty.

NBA Hall of Famer and Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce had a solution to create a dynasty; trade away the Thunder’s mound of draft capital for three-time MVP and NBA champion Nikola Jokic.

“I could see Joker ending up in OKC,” Pierce said on his former teammate and Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett’s podcast, KG Certified. “The thing about OKC is they got the assets. They can propose something that nobody else can propose.

Garnett then asked Pierce what he would hypothetically give up to make this trade, and Pierce listed some viable options.

“I gotta sign Chet [Holmgren] to a big deal, and then add some pieces. Shoot, I’m willing to give up Chet, some first-round draft picks, and then like…Jalen Williams,” Pierce stated.

Garnett was surprised by this, but then agreed with Pierce after he brought up the fact you would have the two leading MVP candidates on the same team in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokic.

“The top two MVP candidates? You got to give up Jalen Williams, and Chet, and some first-round picks? Man, you got Shai and Joker for the next five years. You gonna win something,” Pierce concluded.

Overall, this trade could be one of the biggest blockbusters in NBA history, topping the recent Luka Doncic trade. If the Thunder do this, they would have the newest dynasty in the NBA.
