Thunder predicted to land $94 million star forward via trade to pair with Jalen Williams

The Oklahoma City Thunder are looking like a championship bound team.

They are No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with a record of 44-10, and as they gear up for the rest of the season, this strong squad will likely keep playing at a high level.

While they mostly stood pat, Oklahoma City made a few deals before the trade deadline. They acquired Daniel Theis from the New Orleans Pelicans, then they swapped picks with the Charlotte Hornets. The Thunder have a shot at winning it all, and their lack of moves should come as no surprise.

If Oklahoma City wins it all, they can make some moves during the offseason that can put them on a path toward repeating. If they lose, they can use that time to bring in a missing piece that can put them over the top.

FanSided mentioned a few players the Thunder could go after during the offseason, including a highly coveted trade target. They predicted OKC to land Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson.

After being tied to several teams, Johnson stayed with the Nets. Brooklyn had a high asking price for the sharpshooter, but they could change their stance over the summer. The Nets are rebuilding and want assets such as draft picks. The Thunder have several picks and could include them in a deal for the 29-year-old forward.

Johnson’s shooting abilities could give the Thunder a boost in their offense. Oklahoma City is 17th in 3-point percentage and having Johnson on their team would help them rise up the ranks. It also addresses a potential weakness, as in the event the Thunder are failing to knock down shots come playoff time, the Nets’ elite shooter would fill that void next season.

Oklahoma City is in a good place, and if they can acquire Johnson before next season, their future becomes even brighter.
