It’s official: the Thunder have advanced to the franchise’s first NBA Finals since 2012. Guided by league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and fellow All-Star Jalen Williams, Oklahoma City battled past three-time MVP Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets and then cruised past Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves.
OKC’s first NBA Finals game is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, against the winner of the Knicks-Pacers series. The Thunder remain the favorites to win it all — as they have since before the postseason began — so it’s no surprise that tickets have already been selling fast.
Having home-court advantage throughout the playoffs has paid dividends for the No. 1 seed in the West. OKC has gone 8-1 at Paycom Center this postseason, with a plus-minus of a whopping +221. In the Thunder’s gentleman’s sweep of the Wolves on Wednesday, May 28, they won 124-94 in front of a raucous Paycom crowd.
