Thunder could offer this three-player package for Suns star Kevin Durant

What kinds of player packages could the Phoenix Suns receive for Kevin Durant?

The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are two possible suitors for KD.

Here’s another idea: the Oklahoma City Thunder.

(Keep in mind that we are just discussing which player packages would work financially for Durant here, with no thought of what kind of draft capital Phoenix could also land as part of the package.)

3. Durant to the Thunder

Phoenix receives…

  • Isaiah Hartenstein
  • Alex Caruso
  • Cason Wallace

Phoenix would likely push for a rising star like Chet Holmgren or Jalen Williams to be included in the deal, but OKC, wary of Durant’s age (36) and injury history, would balk at including either cornerstone player.

Instead, Wallace, a 21-year-old guard with defensive upside and playmaking potential, represents the best young asset Phoenix could realistically pry away.

This package isn’t a bad haul for the Suns, even if Phoenix’s delusions about Durant’s true value might cause them to turn their nose up at the deal.

Hartenstein, a versatile big, brings rim protection and passing (much-needed by Phoenix). Caruso, an elite two-way guard, thrives in high-pressure moments and would inject the Suns with winning DNA. Wallace offers long-term potential as a backcourt anchor. All three are starting-caliber players who fit Phoenix’s need for depth and defensive grit alongside Devin Booker.

While losing Durant’s star power would sting, this trade could make the Suns more competitive now while building for the future, especially if Wallace blossoms into a fringe star.

But where else could Durant land? Find out below.
