Tottenham are on the hunt for a new manager following the bold call to dismiss Ange Postecoglou after finishing 17th in the Premier League last season.
Despite ending their wait for trophy after 17 long years, via success in the UEFA Europa League, the club were left frustrated by Postecoglou’s overall performance.
The Spurs hierarchy made the call to sack the Australian and are now reportedly close to appointing Brentford’s Thomas Frank as his successor.
It’s understood Frank has already started work in the background, and the Danish tactician has now demanded his first signing for the North London outfit, with the Daily Mirror claiming he wants to bring Bryan Mbuemo from the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Brentford forward, who had a sensational EPL 2024/25 campaign under Frank is set to on this summer with Manchester United strongly linked with the Cameroonian.
While United are reportedly leading the race for the 25-year-old, Arsenal, Newcastle and now Tottenham are also in the race and Frank will definitely have a say in the deal and that may sway Mbuemo’s decision.

Where could Mbuemo land this summer?
Mbuemo has been with Brentford for many years, and he’s seen the highs and lows of the club, including a first-ever promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and he’s developed into one of the best players for the Bees.

However, 2024/25 was the best in terms of output as he scored 20 goals and provided seven assists. Only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak scored more goals than the 25-year-old.
Mbeumo reportedly has an inclination towards Old Trafford, but Frank’s possible move to Tottenham will increase their chances, also they have UEFA Champions League football for next season which will help their cause. However, Brentford have slapped a £60m [$81m] price tag on him.
Reports from the Sunday Mirror suggest Tottenham are ready to offer around £130,000 [$176,000]-a-week which is lower than United’s reported wages in the region of £150,000-£200,000-a-week [$202,000-270,000].
Overall, the Red Devils are still closer to completing a deal and Frank and Tottenham need to work quickly. They are already against the clock, but if they manage to snap the winger, it will be one of the biggest hijacks of the Premier League summer window.
