This absurd stat continued last night as Los Angeles Angels pound Dodgers

After going 5-23 since 2019 against their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles the Los Angeles Angels have turned the tables in 2025.  The Angels won for the fourth straight time over the defending World Series Champions on Monday night. It is the first time they have won the season series since the 2019 season.

The Angels got out to a 7-0 lead and cruised to a 7-4 victory. The win for the Angels moved them to 57-62, with lots of work to do in the American League wildcard standings. The loss for the Dodgers sent them just a single game ahead of the San Diego Padres for the top spot in the National League West.

With the 7-4 win, the Angels have now scored 30 runs in four games against Dodgers pitching. On the other side, they have allowed just 19.

Zach Neto got the party started for the Angels with a solo home run in the first inning. It was his 18th blast of the season. Yoan Moncada drove in Mike Trout in the same inning, and the Angels never looked back.

Jose Soriano picked up the win, going six strong innings, allowing just two hits and striking out six batters.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto fell to 10-8 on the season. He retired just 14 batters, allowing six hits and six runs, while walking five. 

The Angels did need Kenley Jansen to record the save in the game, as the Dodgers made a late rally with home runs by Shohei Ohtani and Max Muncy. It was his 22nd save of the season, in front of 44,571 fans at Angel Stadium.

The two teams will meet up again on Tuesday, with Emmet Sheehan going for the Dodgers, against Tyler Anderson of the Angels.
