The Yankees need to keep Jazz Chisholm Jr., and here is why

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been absolutely remarkable ever since being traded to The Bronx from the Miami Marlins during last year’s trade deadline festivities.

After injuries plagued his time in South Florida, many didn’t think that the young star would be much of an asset for the team, but after recently becoming just the third Yankee in history to join the 30-30 club, Chisholm has boldly proven those haters wrong.

And not only has Chisholm delivered well during his time in pinstripes, but he’s enjoyed being where he is over the past 14 months as well.

“I don’t wanna leave New York”

When talking with Chris Kirschner of The Athletic, the young infielder was very adamant about how much he enjoyed The Big Apple.

“I don’t wanna leave. If you’ve ever played here, you would never want to leave,” he said to Kirschner. “At the end of the day, it just depends on whether they want me. That’s the difference. Do they want a 40-40 player? You tell me.”

It clearly sees that something inside of Chisholm has been touched in New York in a way that Miami never seemed to get close to, and his relationship with the fans and how much they help his game has led to Chisholm’s masterful 2025 season.

So why should New York keep him? It’s simple. The fans love him, manager Aaron Boone has even spoke of his productivity, and Chisholm himself is more than content with where he is.

Obviously, the team still has to work out deals with stars like Gerrit Cole and Aaron Judge, but with the way Chisholm has been performing with the team, who’s to say that his name isn’t near the top of that lucrative deal talk as well?
