Thanasis Antetokounmpo shares details on Bucks re-signing

The Milwaukee Bucks decided to bring back Thanasis Antetokounmpo on a one-year deal on Sunday, effectively ensuring that both he and Giannis Antetokounmpo will be donning the Bucks uniform on opening night next season.

Both brothers have been playing with the Greek National Team at the EuroBasket Tournament, and Thanasis recently shared details with Eurohoops about why the Bucks were convinced to bring him back.

“They were here after the first game against Italy,” Antetokounmpo said. “They were excited because I was playing defense. I was doing my job, that’s my role.”

Thanasis will provide solid depth for the Bucks

While it should go without saying that most of the attention goes towards Giannis, Thanasis has shown to be impactful in his own right in his six-year NBA career. While he’s only gotten limited action, he has served as a solid depth option for the Bucks for the majority of his career. He’s averaging 2.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game in limited playing time in his career.

The Bucks enter next season at a bit of a crossroads. With many questions surrounding the capability of their roster, next season will be very telling for the future of the franchise, especially if they are eliminated from the playoffs in the early rounds once again.
