The NFL world was rocked in September of 2023 as Taylor Swift attended a Chiefs game. She was attending as a fan after being invited by star tight end Travis Kelce, but the fact that she was there surprised everyone.
Swift was sitting in a suite next to Kelce’s mom Donna. She came back a few weeks later, this time sitting with Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany. She and Swift became close friends and were frequently pictured together watching games. The pair even developed a handshake to celebrate Kansas City touchdowns. The pair went to games together, Mahomes joined Swift out in New York or nights out on the town with a celebrity entourage, and now they are cheering the Chiefs on in New Orleans for Super Bowl 59.

Here is a timeline of the relationship between Swift and Mahomes. It started after the music icon attended her first football game in the fall of 2023, and now they will be cheering on the Chiefs to a third consecutive Super Bowl win in February 2025.
September 2023
Swift attended her first Chiefs game on Sept. 24. Kelce had invited her on an episode of the New Heights podcast, and it was a surprise that the music superstar was taking him up on the offer. She was in a suite with Kelce’s mom Donna. Swift and Mahomes were spotted at the same after-party, and the pair said they wanted to keep in touch and took at least one shot together.
The next week, the pair was spotted in New York City for a night out on the town with Swift’s friends.
October 2023
Swift tends to only go to home games due to security concerns. This wasn’t the case on Oct. 1 as she attended a game at MetLife Stadium with quite the posse. Swift was in a box with Mahomes, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Sabrina Carpenter.
On the Oct. 12, Mahomes and Swift were once again in a suite watching a Chiefs game together, this time against the Broncos. Oct. 22 was another home game for Kansas City, and this was the game in which Swift and Mahomes debuted their handshake after touchdowns.

November 2023:
Swift, Mahomes, Sophie Turner, Cara Delevigne and Gigi Hadid went out for a night on the town in New York.
December 2023 – January 2024
Swift and Mahomes went to two more Chiefs games together in December. The pair attended three playoff games together, with Swift caught cheering for Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco.

The Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl. Swift celebrated with Kelce on the field but also with Mahomes.

The offseason was quiet for everyone but Swift. She continued her Eras Tour and went all over the world. Mahomes, her husband Patrick and Kelce met up at the Amsterdam show and were seen jamming out.

The Mahomeses, Swift and Kelce attended the U.S. Open together in New York.
December 2024
Kelce threw a birthday bash for Swift. He picked the Eras Tour as a theme. Mahomes attended the party, which was significant as there was speculation the pair had a falling out after starkly differing political opinions during the 2024 election.
January 2025
Swift and Mahomes hugged it out after Kansas won yet another AFC championship game.
