T.J. Watt injury update: Latest news on Steelers OLB’s ankle after Week 15 game

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new injury to worry about in the Week 15 game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, as superstar edge rusher T.J. Watt got hurt in the fourth quarter.

With the Steelers trailing 27-13 in the fourth quarter versus Philadelphia, Watt suffered what appeared to be a lower leg injury, and more specifically, it looked like an ankle or foot issue.

Watt was down on the field and in obvious pain while grabbing his foot/ankle area. The exact injury and severity is unknown as of this writing. Here’s what we know so far.

UPDATE: Watt revealed after the game that he rolled his ankle and X-rays were negative, which is good news. However, he was unsure if he’ll be able to play in Week 16 against the Ravens.

UPDATE: According to Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Watt looks to be done for the day.

Watt was clearly walking with a limp on the sideline, but it wasn’t too bad, so that’s potentially good news. Hopefully Watt has dodged a significant injury.

Thankfully, Watt was able to walk off under his own power, so that’s a good sign. However, he was in obvious pain.
