The Las Vegas Raiders have not had the most success of late, that much is undeniable.
The team has only had two winning seasons over the last 10 seasons, and haven’t won a single playoff game since the 2002 season in which they went all the way to the Super Bowl.
Still, while on-field success has been hard to come by, there’s no denying that the team boasts one of the largest and most loyal fanbases. Raider fans are known for their creative silver and black face paint and shoulder pads, but the fanbase could also be known for something else- foul language.
Bill Speros of Bookies.com recently analyzed 1,000 Reddit comments from each of the 32 NFL fanbases to determine which fanbase uses the most curse words. The Raiders came in at No. 6, with only five fanbases using more profane language.
According to Speros, 121 of the 1,000 analyzed comments contained foul language. The Jets earned the top spot, with 154 words, followed by the Eagles, Bills, Patriots, and Bears.
The Raiders are easily the most foul-mouthed fanbase in the AFC West. The Broncos came in at No. 20, while the Chargers were at No. 29 and the Chiefs were at No. 31.
Overall, the Chief and Packer fanbases had the least amount of foul language, with just 72 words each out of 1,000.
This ranking probably surprises absolutely nobody. Not many fanbases have been through more torture than the Raiders, so it’s understandable that the fanbase often lets their frustrations get the best of them.
Not only have the Raiders had very little success over the last two decades, but the fanbase also endured a relocation from Oakland to Vegas ahead of the 2020 season. This was the second time the Raiders left Oakland, first doing so to move to Los Angeles ahead of the 1982 season.
However, better days may be ahead. The Raiders made a bold move to add Pete Carroll as the head coach this offseason, and also traded for Carroll’s former quarterback Geno Smith. This combination surely raises the team’s floor, and could carry the team to contention.
Additionally, the Raiders added one of the most exciting offensive prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft in Ashton Jeanty. The Raiders had the worst run game in the league last year, and Jeanty should immediately transform the unit.
So, hang in there, Raider fans- It probably won’t get much worse.
