Kevin Durant is a popular topic of trade rumors for this summer.
And sometimes, those rumors get more and more complicated.
That’s what Bleacher Report recently did, putting together an intriguing three-team deal that would see Durant traded away from Phoenix.
The headline of the B/R deal is this: Durant to the San Antonio Spurs to play with Victor Wembanyama.
Here’s how the whole trade would break down:
- Spurs get: Kevin Durant, 2030 2nd-round pick from Brooklyn
- Suns get: Nicolas Claxton, Keldon Johnson, 2025 1st-round pick from San Antonio (via Atlanta), 2029 1st-round pick from San Antonio, 2031 first-round pick from San Antonio
- Nets get: Devin Vassell, 2025 2nd-round pick from Phoenix (via Denver), 2026 first-round pick swap from San Antonio
Essentially, the Spurs give up Johnson, Vassell and a bunch of picks to acquire an aging superstar. The deal would mostly move San Antonio’s title window forward but also come with some risk on the back end if Durant declines quickly.

The Suns get two talented younger players in Claxton and Johnson, along with three first-round picks.
The Nets plop their way into the deal to turn Claxton into Vassell and a bit of pick improvement.
Durant, 36, is a basketball junkie who would probably love playing with Wemby.
At the very least, this would be a fun combination of generational talents for the Spurs.
