The Philadelphia Eagles handled the Los Angeles Rams, 37-20, inside the cozy confines of SoFi Stadium back in Week 12.
The teams could be playing in much less cozy conditions in Sunday’s Divisional Round playoff rematch at Lincoln Financial Field (3 p.m. EST, NBC/Peacock).
Per Len Melisurgo of NJ.com, some forecasters aren’t ruling out several inches of accumulating snow on Sunday, as a strong arctic front is expected to push across the interior Northeast over the weekend.
It’s still too early to pinpoint the storm’s track, but according to the National Weather Service, fans can expect the weather in Philadelphia to be “mainly cloudy with a mixture of rain and snow showers developing in the afternoon. High 37F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precip 50%.”
Meteorologist Ray Martin told NJ Advance Media that he expects multiple systems in the vicinity of Lincoln Financial Field around the time of Sunday’s 3 p.m. (EST) kickoff.

“But right now,” Martin said, “during the game, it looks dry, and temperatures will probably be in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees at kickoff, then gradually falling as the game wears on.”
Whether it’s rain, snow or a mix of both, Eagles fans should be rooting for a perfect storm on Sunday. Their Eagles rank first in the NFL in rushing play percentage, and dead-last in average pass attempts per game. The Rams rely much more on the pass, ranking 20th in the league in average rush attempts per game.
Some old fashioned Philly football weather could be just what the doctor ordered for the Eagles as they look to stop one of the hottest teams in the NFL on Sunday.
