When the Pittsburgh Steelers look to snap their nearly 60-year drought of not winning on the Philadelphia Eagles’ home turf on Sunday, they’ll have to do so without three of their starters.
The Steelers and Eagles released their final injury reports of the week on Friday and a total of four players have been ruled out and two are questionable between the two squads.
For the Steelers, they’ll be without wide receiver George Pickens, safety DeShon Elliott and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi, all of whom were ruled out. All three failed to log a single practice the entire week.
While the statuses of Ogunjobi and Elliott remain up in the air moving forward, there is a belief that Pickens could miss multiple more games. Here’s what Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said recently.
“I’m not too optimistic about the Eagles, Ravens, or Chiefs, but I do think there’s a chance for that finale against the Bengals,” Fittipaldo said.
In order to replace Elliott, who is having an outstanding season, the Steelers plan to deploy safety Damontae Kazee and cornerback Cameron Sutton, Kazee told reporters.
“Right now, me and Cam are going to be filling in for his role, and also playing our role,” Kazee said, per Alan Saunders of Steelers Now.
Pittsburgh has two backups questionable in offensive tackle Calvin Anderson and defensive lineman Montravius Adams. Adams is expected to be activated from injured reserve this weekend, which comes at the perfect time considering Ogunjobi’s absence.
The Eagles have a much cleaner situation on their injury report, as the only player who has been ruled out is wide receiver Britain Covey. Philly doesn’t have any players listed as questionable.
Now, the full list of injury designations for the Eagles and Steelers ahead of Sunday.
