Life comes at you fast if you are a rookie in the NFL, and one thing you can’t do is make big mistakes. Unfortunately for Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Kaleb Johnson, in the 31-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, he made a huge one.
Set to take the kickoff, Johnson allowed the kick to tumble into the endzone after initially landing in the landing zone, and thanks to the new NFL rules, that means it is a live ball. Johnson didn’t know it, but the Seahawks’ special teams unit did.
And they “scored” from Kaleb’s mistake, and it was one that many were left shaking their heads at.
But as far as letting Johnson take kick returns again? Head coach Mike Tomlin delivered a brutal reality check to the rookie.
“Probably not in the short term,” Tomlin said. “I’m certainly going to give him an opportunity to work his way back from that error.”

Steelers need bounce-back vs. Patriots
Everyone was high on the Steelers after Week 1, and after the Seahawks loss, many are low on them.
But the question is, which Pittsburgh are we going to get against the New England Patriots? Also, the defense, which for so long has been a stout unit, has given up over 30 points in both games this season.
The Patriots scored 33 points against the Miami Dolphins, so there is potential for another big day for New England’s offense, but the Steelers have to win this and look good doing it.
Granted, at Gillette Stadium makes it a little tougher, but Tomlin’s team needs to bounce back from the horror show against Seattle.
Will Johnson take any kick returns? He might have to prove he deserves it first.
