Steelers free agent quarterback Russell Wilson appears to be feeling some type of way.
QB openings are filling up, and Wilson is still without a job. Pittsburgh might be an option, as are at least a few other teams. But Wilson shared a message about mindset on Instagram on Wednesday that speaks to where his head is at.
The post, originally made by @TheFearlessImpact, was shared on Wilson’s story. The message reads, “Everyone wants to be a champion — until they taste the blood, sweat, and f—ing heartbreak it takes to get there. Winners aren’t made in victory; they’re built in the trenches of every d— loss. Keep f—ing rising.”
Russ is certainly cooking with that one.

It’s probably fair for him to be feeling pretty revved up at this point. Multiple quarterbacks have already changed team via signing or trade, and the former Super Bowl champion is just awaiting a landing spot.
Wilson battled his way back from a preseason injury in 2024 to lead the Steelers to a 6-5 record in 11 games as a starter. He threw 16 touchdowns compared to just five interceptions.
And last season’s competition, Justin Fields, just signed with the Jets to be their new starting quarterback.
Wilson may have to wait out Aaron Rodgers’ decision before knowing his landing spot, since Rodgers has been linked to the Steelers, Giants and Vikings, all teams that could still need a QB.
