Speculation is swirling that the San Antonio Spurs could target Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer.
With Victor Wembanyama emerging as a generational talent and De’Aaron Fox providing All-Star caliber play, the Spurs have a foundation that could entice a player of Giannis’ caliber.
Add in Stephon Castle’s Rookie of the Year campaign, and San Antonio has the assets to craft a blockbuster trade package, potentially including their No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto fueled the speculation on Wednesday.
“With Wembanyama and Fox entrenched as franchise building blocks going forward and Castle coming off a Rookie of the Year campaign, the Spurs could … use the (No. 2) pick to dangle in trade talks to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo should he desire a change of scenery,” Scotto wrote.

San Antonio could package the No. 2 pick with additional future first-rounders and promising young players like Keldon Johnson or Devin Vassell.
The Bucks, potentially facing pressure to retool in the event of a Giannis trade request, might consider such a deal to jumpstart a rebuild.
Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP, would pair perfectly with Wembanyama, creating a defensive juggernaut and a dynamic offensive duo. Fox’s speed and playmaking would complement Giannis’ dominance, giving the Spurs a legitimate Big Three.
If the Spurs pulled this off, they’d vault themselves into championship contention immediately.
