It’s that time of year again when the brightest students compete in the most notable spelling contest in the world.
The 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee returns for its 96th annual competition since beginning in 1925. The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Maryland will host, so most of the participants are from the United States. There are a number of international contestants, as well.
The Spelling Bee spans three days and crowns a new winner every year because previous champions are not allowed to compete. Furthermore, students cannot compete if they graduated eighth grade on or before Aug. 31, 2023, or have reached their 15th birthday on or before Aug. 31, 2023.
The 2024 Bee begins on Tuesday, May 28 with preliminaries and wraps up on Thursday, May 30 with the Finals.

How to watch Spelling Bee 2024

The 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee will be broadcast on ION TV on Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30 from 8-10 p.m. ET. The semifinals take place on Wednesday, and the finals are on Thursday. The event can be streamed on Ion Plus or Fubo.
Fans can also watch the preliminaries on Tuesday, May 28 from 8 a.m. to 7:40 p.m. ET on Ion Plus. They can also watch the quarterfinals through Ion Plus on Wednesday, May 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. Both of these rounds will not be on national TV.
