Some golfers will be shocked when left off the Ryder Cup team

The American Team’s Captain, Keegan Bradley, will have to make a few tough decisions this week regarding his six captain picks. Bradley knows better than anyone how hard these phone calls can be.

Bradley, who was not chosen for the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome, Italy, is now responsible for selecting six golfers for the American team at Bethpage Black. These six golfers will join the six automatic qualifiers already on the team.

In a post-round interview with Todd Lewis at the Tour Championship, Bradley hinted that there could be some surprise regarding the roster on Wednesday.

“There are probably going to be a few guys who think they are going to be on the team that aren’t going to be,” Bradley told Golf Channel’s Lewis.

Bradley’s toughest decision this week could be whether or not he decides to put himself on the team. The 39-year-old from Vermont has had a stellar season on the PGA Tour this year. Bradley rallied from behind near his hometown to beat Englishman Tommy Fleetwood at the Travelers Championship this year.

Bradley also told Lewis he is dreading these “awful” calls this week. Netflix documentary “Full Swing” captured the devastating moment Zach Johnson called Bradley to let him know he was left off the team heading to Rome.

Bradley will hand-pick six players who will join Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English, and Bryson DeChambeau.

Bradley will announce his six Ryder Cup Captain’s picks on August 27th. The announcement will be made live on Golf Channel.
