Seattle Sounders qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to be part of the new expanded tournament.
Alongside Inter Miami and Los Angeles FC, the MLS side are one of three representatives from the host nation, but it is the Sounders’ continental performances that sealed their spot.
Inter Miami were granted the designated host nation place by FIFA, while LAFC won a play-in game to earn the right to take Club Leon’s spot after the Mexican team were expelled. Seattle clinched their slot by winning the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League.

Seattle Sounders’ FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group
Seattle Sounders were in pot four for the Club World Cup draw on Thursday, December 5. They were pre-drawn into Group B and will host their matches at Lumen Field — all against very tough opposition.

When does the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 start?
The FIFA Club World Cup will take place in the summer of 2025 in the United States, with the group stage to begin on June 14, 2025, with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami playing Al Ahly in the opening match at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
The tournament will progress for the subsequent month, with the top two teams from the eight groups of four progressing to the knockout stage and the Round of 16. The final will take place on July 13, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Where will Seattle Sounders play their 2025 Club World Cup games?
Group Stage
All three of Seattle’s group games will take place at their home stadium of Lumen Field.
Knockout Stage
Should they spring a major shock and finish top of Group B, the Sounders will face the runners-up of Group A at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on June 29.
If they qualify as group runners-up, they will play a Round of 16 match against the Group A winners at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia on June 28.
Both semifinals and final take place at MetLife Stadium.
