Savannah Marshall lands unification clash on Taylor-Serrano III card

Savannah Marshall (13-1, 8 KOs) is set to defend her IBF and Ring Magazine super-middleweight titles to WBO titlist Shadasia Green (15-1, 11 KOs) on the Taylor-Serrano III card at Madison Square Garden, New York on July 11th.

New Jersey’s Shadasia Green won the vacant WBO super-middleweight belt against Canadia’s Melinda Watpool on the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson card in Texas last November.

It was “The Sweet Terminator’s” second attempt at a world championship, initially losing out on the WBC 168lbs belt to Franchon Crews-Dezurn in December 2023.

Green was defeated quite widely, one card at ringside reading 98-92. Crews-Dezurn then lost to Marshall later that same year, on a mixed decision.

British boxer Marshall has lost just once in 14 fights, to Claressa Shields in October 2022. The pair were bitter rivals for many years, after Shields lost for the first and only ever time to Marshall in the amateurs. The Michigander settled the score with a dominant unanimous decision victory in Marshall’s homeland.

The 33-year-old “Silent Assassin” hasn’t fought since July 2023, when she was crowned undisputed super-middleweight champion.

The Marshall vs Green unification clash will be a great addition to an already stacked all-female fight card.

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will complete their epic trilogy in the main event, currently scored 2-0 to the Irish superstar.

Also boxing on the bumper bill is London’s Ellie Scotney defending her IBF, WBO and IBO world super-bantamweight titles to WBC champ Yamileth Mercado.

American Alycia Baumgardner defends her undisputed super-featherweight championship to undefeated Spaniard Jennifer Miranda, and Dane Dina Thorslund meets Texan Shurretta Metcalf in world bantamweight unification clash.
