With the summer transfer window near its end, Real Madrid may continue to work on some deals within the squad. Instead of looking for more arrivals, Los Blancos may consider selling a couple of players.
Some departures at Real Madrid this summer have been Luka Modric, Lucas Vázquez, and a couple of young players. Modric and Vazquez left as free agents, and the club may look to sell players to potentially bring in more reinforcements.
Marca reports that the Saudi Pro League will continue its pursuit of players in Europe and is looking at two Real Madrid players. Those two players are David Alaba and Dani Ceballos.
Alaba has become an unpopular player among Real Madrid fans due to his injury record and his drop in form, while Ceballos brings divided opinions. The Spanish midfielder played 45 matches last season across all competitions, making him a great squad player for Xabi Alonso.
Alaba is expected to return in the next few weeks, while Ceballos is ready to play ahead of the new season.
It is unknown which specific clubs are interested in both players, but many can assume that it involves the top teams like Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ahli, or Al Ittihad.
The Saudi Pro League has been after European stars over the last few years, and some clubs are after players this month.
One example is Al Nassr, which is set to sign Barcelona’s Inigo Martinez on a free transfer. The club is also after Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, for which the Saudi Arabian club may consider bidding around $30 million.
It is unclear whether Real Madrid will consider a sale of both Alaba and Ceballos just a few weeks before the end of the summer transfer window. If a satisfactory fee is offered for both players, another signing for Real Madrid may still be in the works.
