The 2025 Ryder Cup has been building for the past two years, and the event has finally arrived.
Two years ago, Team Europe dominated in Rome, winning back the Ryder Cup from Team USA. Now, the Europeans turn their attention to defending their crown on the road, as the Americans host the event at Bethpage Black in Long Island, New York.
Europe has won three road Ryder Cups since 1995, a feat considered one of the toughest in all of sports. By comparison, Team USA hasn’t won a road Ryder Cup since 1993, as Europe has held the upper hand over the past three decades.
After speculation about a potential playing captain, Keegan Bradley leads the Americans, choosing to sit out and focus on his captain duties. Meanwhile, Luke Donald leads a European team that returns 11 of the 12 players who participated in the 2023 victory.
Round 1 begins Friday morning with four foursome matches, followed by four-ball matches in the afternoon. The Sporting News is tracking live scores, updates, and highlights from Day 1 of the 2025 Ryder Cup.
