Russell Wilson wants to win two Super Bowls in the next five years … hopefully with the Broncos | Sporting News

Russell Wilson has Super Bowl desires and wants to win with the Denver Broncos, specifically.

The 35-year-old quarterback made his feelings clear about Denver on Brandon Marshall’s “I Am Athlete” podcast despite the Broncos considering moving on.

“I’ve got more fire than ever, honestly, especially over the past two years of what I’ve gone through,” Wilson said on Brandon Marshall’s ‘I Am Athlete’ podcast. “Whether it’s in Denver or somewhere else, I hope it’s in Denver, I hope I get to finish there. I committed there, I wanted to be there. I want to be there.”

Wilson joined the Broncos in 2022 via a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. In his two seasons, Wilson has an 11-19 record and missed the playoffs both years.

That said, the Broncos were in the playoff hunt late into the 2023 season, however, the franchise pulled the plug on Wilson in the team’s final two regular season games.

Denver started Jarrett Stidham, which allowed the Broncos to dodge Wilson’s $37 million injury guarantee for 2025 if they opt to move on from him this offseason.

Wilson, however, still prefers to be in Denver and bring the city two more Super Bowls. If the Broncos don’t reciprocate his love, though, he’s open to going to a new team.

“For me, it’s about winning,” Wilson said on Marshall’s podcast. “Over the next two years, I want to win two [Super Bowls], I want to feel the chill of that trophy again. I love the city and everything else, but you also want to be [in] a place that wants you, too. The thing I want to do is to win, that’s all I care about.”

Wilson’s recent conversation with Marshall matches how he felt back back in December when he was benched for Stidham.

“I hope that it’s here, I hope that it’s here for a long time,” Wilson said. “I hope we win some more silverware in the front hall and we get some more championships, and if it’s not here, I’ll be prepared to do that somewhere else, but I hope that it’s here, I genuinely mean that. I brought my family here and everything else.”

Has Russell Wilson won a Super Bowl?

Wilson began his career with the Seahawks in 2012 after being drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He started all 16 games of his rookie season, leading Seattle to a playoff berth at 11-5.

Just the next season, Wilson convincingly won Super Bowl XLVIII against none other than the Denver Broncos, 43-8.

He returned to the big game in 2014 but famously lost his chance at back-to-back titles due to Malcolm Butler’s goal-line interception.

Wilson led the Seahawks to eight total playoff appearances in his 10 seasons with the franchise. He finished with a 104-53-1 record.

Where will Russell Wilson play next season?

Wilson has made it clear that his intention is to play for the Denver Broncos next season and for years afterward. If he doesn’t return, here are the top odds for where he’ll end up, according to DraftKings.
