The quarterback for the New York Giants will always have a special place in his heart for the New York Yankees, and he witnessed some history Saturday afternoon.
The 36-year-old quarterback has made a living as a star quarterback in the NFL, but has a career in baseball. Though he hasn’t played in a minor league game since his NFL career began, Wilson was acquired by the Yankees in 2018, and he even made an appearance in spring training ahead of the 2019 season.
The Yankees made a long list of Major League Baseball history during the home run barrage they enjoyed in The Bronx against the Milwaukee Brewers.
It all started with the top of the order when Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge hit back-to-back-to-back home runs on the first three pitches they saw from former fan favorite Nestor Cortes. It was the first time in MLB history that a team began a game with three home runs on consecutive pitches.
Wilson, who was officially introduced as a member of the Giants earlier this week, offered a great response to the historic display of power.
So sweet! The Great Bambino is smiling! @Yankees https://t.co/25YDek2ToN

In total, the Yankees hit nine home runs in the game, setting a franchise record. They are just the third team in MLB history to hit at least nine home runs in a game, and Judge had three of them. It’s the fourth time Judge has hit three home runs in a game during his career.
Wilson will be taking over the starting quarterback role for the Giants, barring the selection of a first-round quarterback in the draft, and he’s likely to be following the Yankees throughout the summer.
