Chelsea secured a season-ending win over rivals Nottingham Forest to land inside the Premier League top five and seal a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Despite securing their goal of UCL qualification, the jury remains out on how strong Enzo Maresca’s first season has been, with fans divided over the end result.
Former Manchester United legend Roy Keane has given his verdict on Chelsea’s domestic exploits under Maresca, with the Irishman labelling their season as ‘unpredictable’.
It’s hard to disagree with Keane as Maresca’s team went from early-season title contenders to almost missing out on any European football for 2025/26.

What Roy Keane said about Chelsea’s title chances
Chelsea were in a position to compete with Liverpool at the top of the EPL table at the start of 2025.
Keane, though, was never convinced, and his doubts became valid as the campaign went on.
When Keane discussed Chelsea’s title credentials linNovember, the Chelsea Chronicle reported him saying, “Forget about it. They’re a dangerous team. They’re making progress. They lost to [Manchester] City and Liverpool, drew with Man United. There’s still a bit to go for them.”
While the Blues can be satisfied with their league campaign this season, going forward there will be an expectation for them to seriously challenge for the title, after some huge investment that has gone into the squad.
