Manchester United bounced back from three successive Premier League defeats to secure a battling 2-2 draw at rivals Liverpool.
Amad Diallo’s late equaliser secured a valuable point for Ruben Amorim at Anfield as he proved to be the scourge of Liverpool once again after his FA Cup winner against them last season.
The Red Devils headed into the game as outsiders to get anything from a freezing trip down the M62 but Amorim’s tactical plan worked well against Arne Slot’s in-form team.

The visitors nullified Liverpool early on, and got their reward just after the restart, as Lisandro Martinez fired home.
The hosts swiftly rallied, via Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, before Amad Diallo’s late strike rescued a result on the road.
Amorim has still won just two EPL games as United boss, but the spirit shown at Anfield was reminiscent of their of their late charge to win 2-1 at Manchester City in December, as Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored in the final minutes.
Despite the overall positivity of a point gained, former United captain Roy Keane claimed there is still plenty of work for Amorim and his players to do, with greater consistency needed in every performance.
“Manchester United turned up. They showed a bit of passion. They did it at Man City recently as well,” as per Sky Sports.
“You can’t just pick and choose when you want to turn up for a game at Man United”

“The argument to all of this though is you can’t pick and choose when you want to turn up for a game at Manchester United.
“I don’t think anyone would’ve predicted them scoring two goals, or nearly nicking it at the end. But they have to back it up.”
With no midweek EFL Cup commitments for Amorim, his side are next in action on January 12, away at Arsenal in the FA Cup Third Round.
