Romeo Lavia is the latest in a long line of Chelsea players to heap praise on his teammate Moises Caicedo.
Levi Colwill had recently claimed that Caicedo can become one of the best midfielders in the world, and now Lavia has come out singing the Ecuadorian’s praises.
Lavia himself had a stellar season during the recently concluded Premier League campaign and was one of the key reasons why Chelsea managed to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League and secure the UEFA Conference League title.
However, the young Belgian international took a back seat and chose to shine a light on the importance of Caicedo’s contributions to the club.
While Caicedo’s influence on the Chelsea midfield cannot be overstated, Lavia has also made a big claim about the player.
According to Lavia, Moises Caicedo is the Rolls-Royce in Chelsea’s midfield, claiming that he actually does his job for him without the ball.

What Lavia said about Caicedo’s contributions to the Chelsea team
Lavia said via Chelsea’s official website: “Thank God I play next to the absolute destroyer, sometimes he does my job, I’m like let me do a little bit. He does it for me. Moi is unbelievable. I hope I can show some of these skills as well because they’re part of my style of play.”
Lavia’s praise for Caicedo is not unwarranted, as the latter has proved his worth on multiple occasions since joining Chelsea.
Caicedo is a bit of a throwback to Chelsea great N’Golo Kanté with the way he covers ground and wins back possession. So, it certainly makes sense that Caicedo idolised Kante when he was younger.
If Caicedo can go on to become half the player that Kante was for Chelsea, the Blues fans are in for a treat in the coming years.
