Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has revealed his wish for Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
The Argentine international looks set to leave United this summer, with Chelsea being his most likely destination.
The Blues have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Garnacho and are in the process of finalising a deal with Manchester United for the player.
In this scenario, Ferdinand has revealed his wish for the 21-year-old, but it must be added that it is extremely unlikely for it to come true.
At this point, Garnacho is not the most popular person at Old Trafford, partly because of some of his antics on social media.
However, Ferdinand would love to see the winger stay at United. However, the former Red Devils star accepts that Ruben Amorim does not see him as a good fit for the team.

Rio Ferdinandâs wish for Alejandro Garnacho
âIâve said for a long time, as a football player, I wouldnât want to see him go,â Ferdinand told talkSPORT when asked about Garnacho. âBut footballâs not just about what you do out on the pitch.â
âI think everythingâs got to marry up, and if the manager deems that heâs not the right type that he wants at the football club, then weâve just got to hold our hands up and say, âWell, youâve got to do what youâve got to doâ. But Iâd love to see Garnacho at the club for years because I think heâs an asset.â

Ferdinandâs desire for Garnacho to remain at United and not move to Stamford Bridge is completely understandable.
Despite his antics, Garnacho remains one of the most talented youngsters in the Premier League with a high ceiling. Last season, he scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions last season, which are very good numbers given his age and Unitedâs struggles.
If the youngster can manage to discipline himself at whichever club he signs for next, he could go on to realise his true potential.
